§ 6-6. Sewerage facilities.

  • (a)

    General requirements. The applicant shall install sanitary sewer facilities in a manner prescribed by the local government construction standards and specification. All plans shall be designed in accordance with the rules, regulations, and standards of the City of Norton, Health Department, and other appropriate agencies. Plans shall be approved by the above agencies. A cleanout shall be required for every sewer tap to be located at the property line.

    (b)

    High-density residential and nonresidential districts. Sanitary sewerage facilities shall connect with public sanitary sewerage systems. Sewers shall be installed to serve each lot and to grades and sizes required by approving officials and agencies.

    (c)

    Low and medium-density residential districts and all public use buildings. Sanitary sewerage systems shall be constructed as follows:

    (1)

    Where a public sanitary sewerage system is reasonably accessible, the subdivider shall connect with the same.

    (2)

    Where a public system is not available, individual disposal systems may be installed. These systems are subject to approval as required by the zoning ordinance and the health official.

    (3)

    Any lot designed for the use of public building, i.e., schools, firestations, shall be served by a public sewerage system.
